A whole new world, a new fantastic point of view - like an Ahah moment. Previously I tend to jumble all these perspective together and not know what the next steps are because there are essentially multiple layers of processes and point of views to consider. I personally learnt while at DemiLaut that the ability to understand and finding the right values is what an impactful product development is all about.

Opportunities were given to me to communicate, to develop the concepts and ideas that were key to the success of the tasks and projects that I have managed. Haaziq helped me to straighten out the ideas & concepts from my perspectives after listening and knowing how I perceived them in the first place.
The program provided a very rich learning experience enabling me to enhance into unique skills and exposures that I have learned in university. It help me to understand and perceive things from multiple perspectives, to apply, iterate & increment in a more effective and useful way.

DemiLaut's unique blend of research and outreach broadened my perspective on tackling vital social issues. As a researcher, I usually focused on a single area. However, with DemiLaut, I learned the power of combining diverse knowledge. This dynamic environment pushed me to think creatively and connect different fields. Using Design Thinking and Agile methods, we adapt quickly to changing challenges, making our journey rewarding through our commitment to ethics and sustainability. What's next? Embrace the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on society while learning and growing professionally!

I love the concept and approach of DemiLaut in empowering the community and making an impactful change in the long term via community-driven efforts. My involvement with DemiLaut initiatives started with a casual meeting with the founder to discuss future collaboration towards sustainable Malaysia’s fishery industry. From there, we developed several initiatives using transdisciplinary (or integrated domain) knowledge to understand the pain points and manage the local problems related to traditional fishers. As an educator and researcher, helping and contributing to the community in an agile, fast-paced learning and working environment via knowledge transfer and awareness gives me a feeling of self-satisfaction. In this digital world, I believe that the involvement of society is a way forward to empower traditional fishers with new skills and opportunities that can ease their challenges and educate them on new ways of managing resources for sustainable income.
